General features: heartwood and sapwood different by color, yellowish to olive brown with some reddish strips, similar smell and taste, high density, plain granulation, fine texture.

Density: 15% humidity (rap 15): 948 kg/m³

Drying: it is fast in the greenhouse with a tendency for moderate grooving.

Handling: considered to be a fairly good wood to work with. The use of a planer, drill, bolts, glue and the twisting process are considered to be easy. The finished product is satisfactory.

Durability: it shows moderate resistance to the attack of xylophagous organisms.

Commercial use: in general construction such as beams, slivers, door and window frames, flooring, tool handle, packaging, etc.
